How to Prevent Windows 7 From Highlighting New Programs in the Start Menu

Windows 7 is configured by default to display newly installed programs in the Start menu. If you don't like to see these programs in your Start menu, then you can disable this feature by following these simple steps:


1. Make a right click on the Start orb and select Properties.

2. Under the 'Start Menu' tab, check off 'Store and display recently opened programs in the Start menu', then click OK.

3. You Start menu is now clean from recently installed programs.
