Install Hotot Twitter Client On Ubuntu 10.04/10.10
Do you like this story?
Hotot is a new Twitter client for Linux. It is written in Python and distributed under GPL licence. This client proposes a lot of features such as previewing images, Google Maps, extensions, a lot of shortcut keys, etc. Hotot is in fact a good alternative for Twitter clients like Pino and Gwibber.
Hotot Installation
To install Hotot in Ubuntu, run these commands in the terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal):
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:hotot-team
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install hotot
For other Linux distributions, check this page.
Launching Hotot
To run Hotot, open Applications > Internet > Hotot Twitter Client. Or simply run this command in the terminal:
hotot
hotot
After testing this new Twitter client, I find it well made. Its fluid graphical effects are really impressive and all necessary functions to use Twitter are present.
